Best of 2020: Top-Selling Sneaker Collabs

3 Mins read

Although 2020 may have been a bad year overall, in terms of sneaker collaborations and releases, many can say it was quite a memorable one. With so many awesome releases, sneakerheads and streetwear enthusiasts are sure to love some of the hot drops of the year. Showing off a wide selection of choices, we curate the top-selling sneaker collaborations down below.

G-Dragon PEACEMINUSONE x Nike Air Force 1 07 ‘Para Noise 2.0’

While the first iteration of the Para-Noise came with a black painted top and black accents on the white midsole, the sheer popularity of the sneaker led G-Dragon to continue his collaboration with Nike by releasing his second PEACEMINUSONE x Nike Air Force 1 ’07 silhouette, the Para-Noise 2.0. With a wear-away top, the sneaker comes in a white-painted upper that peels away due to wear and tear, and reveals an original artwork by G-Dragon himself underneath. You can also see the PEACEMINUSONE daisy branding throughout the sneaker, from the tongue to the pins that come with the shoes. The midsole also has a black brush stroke on the side and the laces, along with the Nike swoosh, come in black as well. The sneaker has been seen worn by several popular K-Pop celebrities.

Sean Wotherspoon x Atmos x ASICS Gel Lyte III ‘Corduroy’

This three-way collaboration shows off the mismatched colours and design through the heavy use of corduroy, a Sean Wotherspoon signature. This is quite the statement made by a sneaker, as there are very few that pull off this amalgamation of a shoe as interestingly as this has. With a customizable velcro attachment, this silhouette is highly sought after by the community for its unique take on a sneaker, as well as an eye-catching design.

sacai x Nike LDWaffle ‘Black Nylon’

Released in two, the LDWaffle ‘Black Nylon’ was a highly popular sneaker (along with its white counterpart) in 2020. With its large white midsole that sticks out from the back to its unique aesthetic, the sneaker is constructed of suede overlay, with Nike swooshes sitting on both sides of the shoe, shadowed to give it that added mystery. Wrapped up in its signature double black laces, the minimalist tongue is evident that this is a Nike and Sacai collaboration.

StrangeLove Skateboards x Nike SB Dunk Low Pro ‘Valentine’s Day’

With several shades of sultry red and pink velvet to symbolize the day of love, the highly popular StrangeLove sneaker was a massive favourite and top-selling shoe in 2020. Its Valentine’s Day theme of red and pink is seen all across the sneaker, with the Nike Swooshes donning a reddish-pink hue. A white midsole is outlined by a pink outsole, as red laces sit atop the light pink velvet tongue.

Union LA x Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Off Noir’

This collaboration between Union and Nike Air Jordan 4 comes in a retro look, constructed by a black suede, with blue and red tints visible across the shoe. Supported by a durable beige midsole with a visible gum bubble for comfort, there are gentle white accents in mesh on the lateral parts of the sneaker. The ankle collar comes in blue, and the heel counter features an embossed Nike Air logo in red. The retro look of this shoe makes this a popular piece.

sacai x Nike LDWaffle ‘White Nylon’

As part of the LDWaffle mix release, the ‘White Nylon’ is the counterpart to the ‘Black Nylon’ as mentioned above. Contrasting its partner, the sneaker comes in all white, with a grey-blue tone to the colourway. The sneaker sticks out from many others due to its large midsole. You can see the white nylon upper with suede overlays covering it, with paired Nike swooshed at the side.

Union LA x Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Guava Ice’

The collaboration between Union LA and Air Jordan continues in the form of the ‘Guava Ice.’ Featuring a leather and light-pink suede construction, overlayed by a Guava colourway, the sneaker is equipped with a large yellow midsole that adds to the shoe’s retro aesthetic. The washed-out pink upper is made out of suede, while white laces sit on top of the yellow tongue. A transparent gum bubble under the heel of the shoe in the midsole completes the look of this futuristic, yet retro-looking sneaker. This beautiful sneaker has been seen worn by Justin Bieber.
