Novelship’s Hot Release Roundup: Oct 4 Week

5 Mins read

From the unique three-way collaboration of Sacai x Clot x Nike LDWaffle ‘Kiss of Death 2’ to the more toned-down Adidas Yeezy 500 High ‘Mist Stone,’ we highlight the hot releases for the first week of October.

NBA X NIKE DUNK LOW EMB ’75TH ANNIVERSARY CHICAGO’

This collaboration between the NBA and Nike for the 75th anniversary of the league is certainly something special. By collaborating with Nike, the NBA has put out multiple colorways in the Nike Dunk Low silhouette, and the Chicago color blocking of black, red, and white has always been an iconic combination for Nikes, making this sneaker even more special. In classic fashion, a white leather upper appears near the toe box, midfoot, and the heel collar, with the midsole and tongue matching the theme. The front part of the shoe has red overlays around the toe box and the lace structure, while black appears towards the back on the ankle overlays, Nike Swooshes, heel tab, and tongue.

SACAI X CLOT X NIKE LDWAFFLE ‘KISS OF DEATH 2’

The Kiss of Death 2 is a collaboration between Sacai, Clot, and LDWaffle, and comes in the classic shadow design of double construction in the tongue and Nike Swooshes. The sneaker comes in watered-down blue and off-white colors, with the upper appearing majorly in a washed-off blue color with grey linings. The laces match this theme, while the double tongue appears in blue on the upper portion and green on the underlying structure. When it comes to the Swooshes, you see a dark blue design with a lighter blue Swoosh under it. The heel also follows the classic midsole design of the LDWaffle, with the midsole sticking out from the rest of the shoe towards the back. The off-white midsole is covered by a dark blue outsole, which is again covered by a yellow, patterned layer on the bottom.

AIR JORDAN 5 RETRO ‘BLUEBIRD’ (WMNS)

The Air Jordan 5 Retro Blue Bird is a women’s exclusive shoe that could be the next item in your collection. With a light blue color adorning the upper of the sneaker, you get a blue toe box, tongue, laces, and mesh midfoot that match the theme. The tongue melts into a silver color towards the top and sports a large grey Jumpman logo, while the high top of the sneaker slants back in a clean line from the tongue. Other classic Air Jordan 5 aspects that appear on the sneaker are the shark tooth design on the midsole in white, a visible air bubble on the side below the heel, and the extra eyelets and padded ankle support towards the top of the shoe. The midsole appears in a darker shade of blue and white and is covered by the same shade of blue as the upper.

ADIDAS YEEZY 500 HIGH ‘MIST STONE’

The Adidas Yeezy 500 High Mist Stone lives up to the Yeezy hype and comes in a design that makes it stick out from a lineup. The earth colors and natural curves of the sneaker are still present in typical Yeezy fashion, while the straight lines on the top give it a nice, sleek look. With a light greyish brown color in different shades adorning the upper, you can see a number of rounded shapes on the upper that give it a signature look. As a contrast, the tongue and laces on the shoe appear in a stark black color. The shoe gradually melts into lighter colors towards the bottom, with the large midsole coming in an even lighter shade of greyish brown while the bottom layer of the sole being practically off-white.

AIR JORDAN 12 RETRO ‘ROYALTY’

With a black, white, and gold color blocking, the shoe comes with a white upper that covers the midfoot and back of the shoe, even appearing on the tongue. The midsole and outsole of the shoe are black in color, giving it a clean, contrasting look. A large black overlay covers most of the toe box and a large portion of the midfoot, blending into the sole of the sneaker. The name Royalty in the shoe is explained by the splashes of gold on the shoe that appear near the top eyelets and near the midsole on the midfoot. The golden overlay on the midfoot says the word Jumpman instead of the usual Jumpman logo. The laces on the shoe match the overlays on it and come in black, which is also matched by the back of the shoe in the form of a pullout tab and a stripe down the back.

UNDEFEATED X NIKE AIR FORCE 1 LOW SP ‘DUNK VS AF1’

As the name suggests, appears in a blue and yellow color blocking with splashes of white on it. The lateral side of the shoe features a yellow midfoot, while the medial side comes in white. The toe box of the shoe matches the medial side and comes in yellow, while overlays present around the toe box, on both sides of the lace structure, and on the ankle come in blue. This is also matched by the laces and tongue of the sneaker. When it comes to the Nike Swooshes, the lateral one comes in a shiny white color while the one on the medial side matches the color of the toe box and comes in yellow. Branding appears in the form of Undefeated logos on the lateral ankle overlay and top of the tongue, while a Nike Air logo with the Swoosh appears in blue on the back of the shoe on the white heel tab overlay.
