The apparel industry has always made sure to stay on top of cultural trends. Collaboration has been a key to great success, especially on a global scale. From streetwear collabs with pop culture shows like The Simpsons to lifestyle conglomerates like IKEA doing their own releases, the need to express yourself in every community is real.
LEGO x Adidas Multi-Year Partnership
With that being said, a month ago, LEGO Group and Adidas Originals announced a multi-year partnership, bringing the two massive brands together to foster a space of creativity and playful positivity. As a way to include both adults and children everywhere around the world, these ongoing collaborations between the two companies will help inspire designers and consumers for years to come.
While talks of the partnership have been swirling since 2017, this announcement comes with a string of products that are scheduled to be released before the end of 2020 and throughout 2021. The sneakers will be directed at both kids and adults, delivering colourful, imaginative releases that are meant to inspire.
Sharing a belief in the power to build skills, strength and better futures through creativity, it’s time for two of the world’s most creative and loved brands to play on the same team!
A Sneaker and Toy All-In-One
The first sneaker to be released, as part of the LEGO and Adidas collaboration, was the LEGO x Adidas ZX 8000 ‘A-ZX’. Constructed out of white mesh and tan suede, you can see the distinct Three Stripes on the midfoot on both the lateral and medial sides, with accents of yellow bordering the white-black design.
The shoe comes with a blue heel counter with a classic raised Lego block pattern on them. This is also a similar pattern that is visible across the rest of the shoe. You can see a blue accent at the toe box, with a red outsole resembling that of Lego pieces that appear to be attachable elsewhere. Interchangeable laces in multiple colors make this sneaker even more customizable, coming in yellow, black, red, green, and blue. At the front of the laces, is held together by the Lego brick lace jewel.
You can find the LEGO logo in red on top of the white tongue. The entire colorful design of the shoe makes for a very unique, playful sneaker. Many sneakerheads that have an affinity for lego when they were young will love this silhouette.
