PSG have one design element that matters more than everything else combined: the Hechter stripe.
Named after former club president Daniel Hechter, the vertical band running down the centre of the shirt has been Paris’s defining visual cue since the 1970s. And for most of the last decade, Nike has been fiddling with it — making it narrower, pushing the badges off-centre, occasionally dropping it altogether. Only half of the last eight PSG home kits used it.
Club ultras protested. Nike listened. Over four seasons the stripe has been progressively restored — and the 26/27 is the most traditional version of it in years, wider than any recent shirt, with every badge sitting inside it.
The 26/27 Home Kit
Released 9 May 2026 and debuted two days later in the final Ligue 1 home match of the season.
The base is “Old Royal” — a royal blue noticeably lighter and more vibrant than the deep navy PSG have worn for most of the last decade. Running down the centre is the Hechter stripe, wider than usual: a broad red panel with narrow white bands on either side, against the blue body and sleeves. Subtle tonal fabric detailing runs across the main panels.
The layout is the part collectors have noticed. Nike has centralised every logo inside the stripe — the club crest, the Swoosh and the Qatar Airways sponsor, the last of which is rendered very small. It’s the first time in several seasons that the badges have sat fully within the stripe, and it gives the front a symmetrical, uncluttered look. White and University Red handle the trim, reinforcing the French tricolour identity.
Inside the collar, Nike has stitched “Fiers de nos couleurs” — Proud of our colours. Blue shorts and matching blue socks complete it.
Two bits of context. This is the 37th consecutive season Nike has made PSG’s kit. And the wide stripe is a deliberate homage to the 1995-96 shirt, when the Hechter was at its broadest in modern memory.
The launch campaign, “belief builds, aura takes over,” placed Nuno Mendes, Marquinhos and Ousmane Dembélé alongside supporters at the Parc des Princes.
Tech: the player-issue Vapor version uses a lighter ADV chassis with bonded seams and a slimmer cut. The Stadium version is roomier and uses recycled polyester.

The 24/25 is the turning point. Nike brought the Hechter back to its traditional central position and colour formation — red stripe bordered by white — for the first time since 2020/21, after three seasons of experimenting. It came directly in response to protests from club ultras, who had pushed for its permanent return. The twist was an almost hand-painted look to the stripe, meant to reflect Paris’s culture of creativity, with tricolore detailing on the rear of the neck. It launched on 10 May 2024, debuted by both the men’s and women’s teams in their final fixtures at the Parc des Princes, and was Kylian Mbappé’s last season at the club.
The 25/26 kept the classic Hechter but moved the base to “Midnight Navy” and added a geometric pattern inspired by Parisian architecture, the Eiffel Tower included. The French flag appears on the sleeve cuffs, and a bespoke “Ici c’est Paris” graphic sits on the inner collar. One quirk: there’s no free space left around the Qatar Airways logo, which sits tight against the stripe.
The 23/24 (€95 replica / €150 authentic) was itself a partial return. Nike had omitted the Hechter entirely two seasons earlier and inverted it the season after, so its reappearance here mattered — but it came back offset rather than centred, as a block of red flanked by two white stripes that gradually dissolve into the dark blue body. The fade was inspired by the lights of the Parisian skyline blending into the night sky, and a subtle woven jacquard pattern mimicking the Eiffel Tower runs through the fabric. The tricolour sits on the back of the collar.
The quickest way to identify it is the Swoosh: red, not white, with every other logo in white. Nike unveiled it on 31 May 2023 with Messi, Neymar and Mbappé fronting the launch, and it hit retailers on 3 June.
The pattern is a straight line. Offset and fading, then restored to the centre, then kept while the base darkened, then widened until the badges sat inside it. Four seasons of Nike walking an experiment back — and two of them, the 23/24 and the 25/26, quietly work the Eiffel Tower into the fabric.

Which Season Should You Buy?
The 26/27 if you want the most traditional. The widest Hechter in modern memory, every badge centred inside it, and a lighter Old Royal blue that reads differently from anything PSG have worn in a decade. It’s also the shirt of the season Nike deliberately framed as a return to legacy.
The 24/25 if you want the one that mattered. This is the shirt that ended three seasons of experimentation, brought back after fans campaigned for it — and the hand-painted stripe effect is a genuine one-off. It’s also Mbappé’s final PSG kit, which is its own kind of significance.
The 25/26 if you want the most detailed. The Eiffel Tower geometric pattern is the most intricate design of the four, and the Midnight Navy base is the darkest and richest.
The 23/24 if you want the outlier. An offset stripe dissolving into the blue, a red Swoosh, and an Eiffel Tower jacquard woven through the fabric — it looks least like a traditional PSG shirt, which makes it the most distinctive to own now that Nike has abandoned that direction. It was also the last PSG home shirt worn by Messi, Neymar and Mbappé together.
